Job Description - Breast Imaging Quality Navigator (3302293)Full-Time 40 hours. Mon – Fri 8:30a-5:00pReporting directly to the Clinical Manager of Breast Imaging with a dotted line to the Breast Imaging Leadership team, including the Division Chief, the Breast Imaging Quality Navigator is responsible for maintaining the highest levels of empathy, communication, and efficiency to provide exemplary patient guidance and direction through complex imaging and treatment pathways. The Breast Imaging Quality Navigator follows established department and hospital policies and procedures, works cohesively as a member of the Breast Imaging team, and on behalf of the Breast Imaging Radiologists, seeks timely solutions to enhance the patient experience and takes a proactive role to ensure overall consistently efficient operations. The Breast Imaging Quality Navigator is a Breast Imaging subject matter expert and oversees the Medical Audit for the Breast Imaging Radiologists. Works clinically as needed.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Performs breast imaging exams and procedures regularly and as needed.Works directly with patients, explaining and scheduling all recommended Breast Imaging exams and procedures.Works with other Breast Imaging network Quality Navigators and administrative teams to assure accuracy of input data entry while overseeing pathology tracking and notification. Inputs Birads 0, 3, 4, 5 utilizing the appropriate mammography module. Follows up and tracks to completion according to regulatory compliance policy. Ensures pathology results are communicated to patients and referrers in a timely manner. Oversees patient letters for accuracy.Generates audit reports and oversees outcomes lists at the request of all Breast Imaging Radiologists and for annual site inspections.Works closely with the Breast Imaging network administrative teams to ensure the necessary documentation is acquired prior to the day of the scheduled procedure being performed (i.e. outside consults, physician orders, prior imaging, etc.).Assists with all Quality Control/Quality Assurance processes as needed to ensure continuous compliance with State and Federal regulatory guidelines.Assists in research and quality improvement projects.Attends staff meetings, in-services, and maintains appropriate CEUs in accordance with Massachusetts State licensure and ARRT requirements.Plans, composes, initiates and maintains complete procedure documentation, patient data, details of procedure and follow-up, as required.Performs other duties as required or requested.Minimum Requirements:Must be a graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology and possess current ARRT certification and a Massachusetts DPH license in Radiography and Mammography.Bachelor’s Degree preferred OR in lieu of, extensive Breast Imaging experience demonstrating progressive levels of responsibility.ARRT in Radiology and Mammography.Mass DPH license in Radiology and Mammography.Breast Care Navigator Certification required within 1 year of employment. Certification continuation must be demonstrated annually through professional education and documented performance.Minimum of 4-5 years experience in the field of radiology with an in-depth knowledge of mammography and breast care.Must be knowledgeable with performing mammography quality control testing that needs to follow the MQSA, ACR and Mass State mammography regulations.Required Skills and Competencies:Demonstrated and highly effective Breast Imaging Technologist, possessing exemplary behaviors and skills.Attention to detail with excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as a desire to provide a high level of customer service.Must be self-motivated, proactive, and exercise sound judgment in setting and following priorities.Must be able to work independently as well as be a contributing team member to a variety of interdisciplinary teams.Must maintain a professional, composed, patient and empathetic demeanor under otherwise stressful conditions which may occur due to the volume and nature of work and consistently exemplify this behavior.A comprehensive understanding of navigating EMR and all other technologies, both in equipment and operations, evolving processes as needed through program and system upgrades.Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital is an Affirmative Action Employer.
