That’s why Masonic has created a work environment where employees are valued and supported both on the job and personally.In the VP of Development position, you will provide the development, strategic direction, management and coordination for all Masonic Homes of Kentucky’s fundraising efforts. Create fundraising strategies that increase the organization's support from individuals, corporations, foundations, and other sources. Identify, cultivate, solicit and successfully close on major donations for capital and annual gifts; use internal and external resources to source additional donation opportunities. Work in close collaboration with the CEO, other senior staff and key board leadership to achieve the fundraising goals of the organization.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.Plan, administer, and implement all fundraising activities of The Masonic Homes of Kentucky, Inc.Oversee the establishment of policy and protocol on all issues pertaining to the advancement program.Manage the mission advancement department in a fiscally sound manner by ensuring that the appropriate systems, staffing and procedures are in place to support fundraising goals.A key priority is to develop and implement a proactive, creative leadership role to identify, cultivate, solicit, and close on donations from individuals (Masonic and non-Masonic), corporate and foundation contributors;Develop and maintain a five-year plan for the fundraising and mission advancement programs which is updated annually, to include strategies for the following:Annual Giving – direct response, personal solicitation, special events, employee givingCorporate and foundation supportMajor GiftsPlanned GivingGrantsBoard and fraternal engagementComprehensive campaign planning and implementationPrepare an annual plan for fundraising which includes measurable dollar goals, action plans and a budget;Help to carry out the purpose statement, values, and goals and objectives established by corporate management and, under the direction of senior management, the board of directors of the Masonic Homes of Kentucky, Inc;Cultivate and directly solicit key donors, working with the CEO and other key volunteers, as appropriate.Coordinate donor patron receptions, events, and galas in collaboration with senior staff, community leadership teams, and others as appropriate.Develop and maintain close working relationships with the philanthropic community, individual and corporate donors, sponsors, Grand Lodge of Kentucky and subordinate lodges, affiliated Masonic organizations, board members and volunteers.Serve as a visible spokesperson and advocate for Masonic Homes of Kentucky’s mission and programs in the funding community;Serve as a member of Masonic Homes of Kentucky’s senior management team.Prepare and/or oversee all direct mail letters, case statements, grants, brochures, and sponsorship proposals required to support fundraising efforts.Provide detailed reports about the fundraising progress to the CEO and the Mission Advancement Committee on a regular basis;Ensure that all donors are appropriately thanked and receive regular communication by making donor stewardship a priority throughout Masonic Homes of Kentucky;Ensure that all fundraising activities follow all legal and ethical guidelines and policies, and/or federal, state or local law, rule or regulation that may govern.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
At least five years of proven fundraising experience in a leadership roleCertified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) preferredBachelor’s or advanced degree desirableKnowledge and proven application of legal and ethical fundraising guidelinesAbility to work with a team, be self-directed, organized and flexible.Able to communicate effectively, with personnel at all levels of the organization, with residents, their friends and family, and with members of the community.The ability to effectively conduct presentations to small and large groups.High level of computer literacy.
