Job Summary and General Purpose of Position:
Under the general direction of Ketts Human Resources Manager, supports all aspects of human resource services for all California locations. Responsibilities include compliance, employee relations policy, and benefit and HRIS administration.
This position is privy to confidential information, and as such, requires diplomacy and discretion. This role requires working with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment, and initiative while maintaining confidentiality. The Human Resources Generalist understands the requirement for flexibility and accommodates shifting priorities while representing and supporting Kett Engineerings corporate human resource functions.
Essential Functions:HRIS Administration (PAYCOM)
Process, verify, enter pre-hire, new hire, and rehire data in Ketts HRIS system. Will also process, change and update employee pay rate, status, job title, and position data information in Paycom as changes occur. Calculate final checks to include final benefit payments, and vacation cash outs. Provide ad hoc reports to include Pay Rate Reports, Benefit Eligibility Drug Screen, and Physical Reports. Document management to include new and rehire checklist, benefit information, and employee access to Paycoms employee self-service portal. May also establish, assign, and/or update user permission profiles within Paycom.Employee Relations
Serves as a resource to all levels of the organization, to coach, counsel, and resolve sensitive employee issues through direct and indirect interaction with employees, management, and customers. Specific responsibilities include performance management/appraisal, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, and preparation of related documentation. Investigates, documents, and resolves employee complaints and grievances to include but not limited to harassment, and discrimination. Conducts on/off boarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including terminations.Compliance -
Track and monitor Federal, State, Municipal level requirements, and changes. Advises, recommends, and drafts policy/notice updates and changes.Leave Administration
Prepares and tracks all Leave requests/notices for all types of leave to include FMLA, CFL, FEHA, Personal and Workers Compensation. Processes and tracks all workers compensation claims for California. Tracks missed benefit premium deductions and processes required benefit changes.Benefit Administration -
Track eligibility to include ACA Compliance and all related activities. Set-up, manage, and maintain employee self-service benefit portal. Process, eligibility offers, terminations, and prepare any necessary reports. Process and prepare all COBRA related documentation and notices. Work with executive management to design, select, set-up, and implement all corporate benefits to include Health, Dental, Life, and Supplemental benefit policies. Process all benefit enrollment, changes, and termination in both Ketts HRIS system, and carrier portals. Reconcile all monthly benefit invoices.May perform additional duties as requested by management.Key Responsibilities:

Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, or Organizational Development. Requires. 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources. Human Resources Certification - SPHR CP, PHR-CA, SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
Skills/Experience: Must be proficient in MS Office Outlook, Word, and Excel. HRIS knowledge required (PAYCOM preferred). Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be versatile, flexible, self-motivated, tech-savvy, emotionally intelligent, and good communicator and collaborator with strong Human Resources skills/experience.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Job requires sitting, standing, and bending for approximately 6 8 hours on a daily basis. Must be able to handle daily pressures and stress-related conditions.
