Summary

This role will be responsible for managing key accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making. The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with accounting standards while driving continuous improvements within the finance department.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Essential Job Duties

Oversee the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP.Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions, ensuring timely processing and accurate reporting.Additional Job Duties

Ensure proper maintenance of the general ledger and all related accounting functions.Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support financial planning and decision-making.Lead and coordinate external financial reviews, ensuring compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial processes.Reconcile complex accounts, investigate discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues promptly.Assist with tax preparation and compliance, including sales tax, income tax, and other regulatory filings. Provide financial analysis and support for special projects as needed, including system implementations and process improvements.Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.Other job duties as assigned by managementRequired Skills / Experience

Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with a strong understanding of GAAP and inventory management.Experience in the retail or e-commerce industry is highly desirable.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines.Preferred Skills / Experience

CPA or CMA certification preferredStrong knowledge of accounting software and tools, specifically Quickbooks and Bill.com.Traits / Characteristics
