Position Summary:
The Financial Specialist will prepare and submit invoices completely and accurately, to assure the timely payment from funders. This position will make sure that check payments are deposited timely and accurately, resulting in positive cash flow to Community of Hope. This position is accountable directly to the Contracts and Grants Financial Manager. This is a full-time position.
The pay rate for this position ranges between $23.07 - $25.48 per hour and the offer amount is determined by the candidate's education, qualifications, and experience

Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:
Annotates and compiles backup documentation for outgoing monthly invoices.Prepares invoices for submission to funders as assigned.Prepares and sends invoices for room use, CACFP, honoraria, and other miscellaneous invoices as needed.Deposits checks received into Community of Hope's checking accounts at least weekly using Remote DepositCapture. Reviews and verifies check batch totals provided by the Administrative Assistant. Communicate with bank staff regarding remote deposit function as needed.Code and upload fund budgets and budget updates to the Business Central accounting system as assigned.Assist with collecting contract deliverables for renewing and new contracts and grant opportunitiesAssist Finance Analysts with inputting annual operating budgets into the accounting system.Attends team, department, and company meetings as scheduled.Completes other job duties as assigned.*Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. At least two years of post-secondary education in finance, accounting, or business, or 2 years of equivalent work experience required.Bookkeeping or accounting training and/or experience preferred.Accurate and attentive to detail.Highly organized and able to meet strict deadlines.Able to communicate effectively with employees and outside parties.Extremely discreet and able to keep highly confidential information.At COH, we understand the toll that the Covid-19 pandemic has taken on the workforce, which is why we prioritize the following well-being and work-life balance-centered benefits:

About Us:
Community of Hope is a mission-driven, innovative, and rapidly growing nonprofit. For over 40 years, we have provided healthcare, housing, and supportive services for under-resourced, underserved and people experiencing homelessness in Washington, DC. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we provide medical, dental, emotional wellness, and care coordination services for the whole family at three locations in DC. Community of Hope also strongly emphasizes maternal and child health, with midwifery practice and the only free-standing birth center in DC. In 2020, Community of Hope provided about 28,400 medical visits, 7,000 dental visits, and 10,000 behavioral health visits for about 11,000 patients. Community of Hope provides community walk-in COVID testing and COVID vaccines. Community of Hope is also one of the largest providers in DC of housing and support services for families and individuals experiencing homelessness. Through providing these programs, we live out our mission to improve health and end family and individual homelessness to make Washington, DC, more equitable.
