This position will provide direct and efficient team based care to patients, meeting clinical standards, within the appropriate scope of practice. This position requires the provision of primary medical care to a diverse population of pediatric, adult, and prenatal patients (optional). We are looking for applicants with experience or training in underserved populations and an interest in working with patients with medically and socially complex needs. The salary for this position ranges between $170,000 - $180,000 annually and the offer amount is determined by the candidate's education, qualifications, and experience. Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities: Provides direct and efficient medical care to patients, meeting clinical standards and maintaining flow, within the appropriate scope of practice.Refers patients to specialists or care coordination as needed.Maintains the required productivity numbers expected by Community of Hope, as set by the board;Documents all patient encounters, including face to face, telephone, and electronic communications, in the medical record in a timely fashion; using all mandatory, structured fields as required in eCW. Precepts residents, medical students, nurse practitioner students, and physician assistant students during their community medicine rotations as agreed upon with supervisor;Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential. Completes and locks all progress notes within 72 hours of patient visit;Signs off on all laboratory results, diagnostic imaging results, and referral reports in a timely fashion and shares this information with patients as appropriate.Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential. RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:Medical Degree (MD/DO, Board Certified preferred) with specialization in family medicine required;Current DC license or ability to acquire a DC license in a timely manner required (employment will not begin until after a DC license is acquired and credentialing by the board is approved); Any providers who are licensed in Maryland who provide a copy of their license and MD CDS to Talent Management are also eligible for MD licensure reimbursement.Current CDS and DEA required; Current BLS certification (ACLS or BLS for the Healthcare Provider or equivalent) required.Minimum of 2 years experience practicing in an inner-city setting preferred.Commitment to work with underserved populations in an urban setting. Experience with electronic health records preferred.Bilingual in Spanish or Amharic preferred.Ability to work across clinical sites if requested.Shares Saturday clinic coverage with other providers by completing at least one Saturday shift per month. For over 40 years, we have provided healthcare, housing, and supportive services for under-resourced, underserved and people experiencing homelessness in Washington, DC. As a Federally Qualified Health Center, we provide medical, dental, emotional wellness, and care coordination services for the whole family at three locations in DC. Community of Hope also strongly emphasizes maternal and child health, with midwifery practice and the only free-standing birth center in DC. In 2020, Community of Hope provided about 28,400 medical visits, 7,000 dental visits, and 10,000 behavioral health visits for about 11,000 patients. Community of Hope provides community walk-in COVID testing and COVID vaccines. Community of Hope is also one of the largest providers in DC of housing and support services for families and individuals experiencing homelessness.
