POSITION SUMMARY:
The Occupational Therapist will provide assessments, interventions, and educational strategies to help students develop the skills necessary for academic success and daily living.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' needs and develop individualized treatment plans.Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to integrate therapeutic strategies into the classroom environment.Provide direct therapy services to students, focusing on fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and activities of daily living.Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.Educate staff and parents on strategies to support student development and promote a sensory-friendly environment.Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams.Participate in the MTSS process to provide appropriate Occupational Therapy interventionMaintain accurate and timely records in compliance with school and state regulations.Stay current with best practices in occupational therapy and special education through ongoing professional development.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Classroom-based with regular interaction throughout the school.Attendance at meetings and events outside regular school hours.PHYSICAL CONTEXT OF THE JOB:
Regular travel within the school building and occasional off-site meetings.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
