Job Summary
Job Description
Under general direction, the Tax Analyst will be responsible for the preparation of tax related projects and returns associated with U.S. federal, state, local, and international tax matters. The position will require interaction with the tax team, corporate accounting group, financial analysis, local controllers, and external service providers.
Core Job Responsibilities:
Assemble and organize data to provide to external advisors for Partnership and C corporation tax return preparation, including, various federal, state, and international related data. Proactively work with corporate accounting group and local controllers to obtain data required for the tax return.Assist with computing US federal book to tax adjustments (i.e., Schedule M) as related to an operating entity.Assist with quarterly federal and states estimates and distributions.Assist with tax research and modeling related to new tax guidance, working with the team to help evaluate and understand tax implications.Assist with preparing schedules/analysis of the various tax accounts and transactions to support financial analysis, accounting, and legal ops teams.Assist with various tax related projects, as needed, including but not limited to handling tax correspondence, reporting for various tax calculations/incentives, responding to state and federal notices, and supporting federal and state income tax audits - including gathering supporting information and documentation.Ownership of assigned projects/tasks, including communication of project status with appropriate documentation, and regular follow-up until projects are complete.Basic Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.Relevant Work Experience
1-2 years of experience with knowledge in income tax matters.Experience with income tax concepts for operating entities, such as, book/tax adjustments (i.e., schedule M adjustments), partnership mechanics, or state tax matters.Strong attention to detail and communication skills.Certification / Licensure
Master's in Taxation (MST), CPA or J.D. preferred.Additional
Experience with tax planning, research, accounting for income taxes, partnership taxation, and international tax compliance (a plus but not required).Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).Knowledge of pivot tables, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP functions (a plus but not required).Candidates should be organized, motivated, a self-starter, detail oriented, able to multitask/work in a quick paced/deadline oriented environment, work well with others, have a strong work ethic, strong ability to communicate with co-workers and external advisors orally and in writing, and be professional in appearance and demeanor.Experience with SAP preferred.
