Job DescriptionJob Description Summary
The Program Specialist III, under supervision, provides moderately complex administrative work in support of the IHA research program.
ResponsibilitiesAssists in the preparation of research proposals and budgets for IHA leadership and researchers.Interprets grant proposal requirements/PI eligibility; creates timelines for proposal development for IHA leadership and researchers.Monitors post-award spending on all IHA sponsored funding.Makes sure key personnel commitments on all projects have been met and all spending is within the guidelines of the project.Reviews payroll allocations for IHA sponsored funding and assists researchers with budget projections.Works as a liaison with IHA researchers, program managers and sponsored projects officers regarding funding, compliance and required reporting.Provides support to IHA business office.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Three years of related experience.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal, organizational, and customer service skills. Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Prior TAMUS experience.Experience with FAMIS/Canopy or Maestro.
