As an Outreach Ambassador, you will be assigned a high school in the LCC Service Area - the goal being consistency with students considering LCC; allowing those prospective students to gain familiarity with their assigned ambassador; and look to their Outreach Ambassador as a role model or example of what student success at LCC can look like.Examples of Duties & Responsibilities
Activities that Outreach Ambassadors can/will be involved in, include (but are not limited to):
Tours - via Zoom and in-personAttending high school and community events as a representative of LCC (most likely with an outreach staff), such as:College Fairs and Application events - "Pie & Apply" Ask Me Anything about LCCThe annual Hispanic Health & Resource Fair ? Financial Aid support events/nightsProjects such as: Supporting the Summer Bridge Program and Men of Color ConferenceCreating informational brochures/fliersData entryCalls & texts to current and prospective studentsPlanning student oriented eventsFinals Survival BagsTypical Qualifications
Qualifications:
Comfortable on the phone, online and in front of groupsComfortable with technology (Zoom, video conferencing, etc.) and/or willing to learnHave a passion for helping othersWork well as part of a team and independentlyAdaptable to different working environmentsGood communication and problem solving skillsMeet minimum academic requirementsEnrolled in a minimum of 6-10 credits each quarterAt least 1 quarter completed at LCC (preferred but not required)Maintain 2.8 Cumulative GPA or above and stay in good Academic Standing each quarterAvailable to work at least 10 hours per week, in at least 2-3 hour blocksAbility to work occasional evenings or weekendsWork study eligible through financial aid (not required)Available to attend a student leadership conference September 4th-6th 2024 at Green River College. All costs are covered by ASLCC.

Paid Sick LeaveStudent employees (work study and student help) accrue sick leave at a rate of 1 hour for every 40 hours worked. A sick leave balance not to exceed 40 hours will be carried over into January each year.
On-site Childcare CenterTheis a state licensed program that offers high quality childcare for children ages 1 month through kindergarten entry to students, staff and faculty. The center is open Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The program is a participant of the Washington State Early Achievers quality rating and improvement system and rated a level 4-Quality Level of Excellence. Our teachers are trained in the Early Childhood Education field.
Social SecurityAll state employees are covered by the federal and Medicare systems. The state and the employee pay an equal amount into the system.
