To Apply for this Job Click HereWe're hiring! Beacon Hill has partnered with a prestigious law firm in Chicago in hiring a contract Human Resources Generalist to start immediately! This is a contract role starting as soon as possible through the end of February.The HR Generalist will support the Chicago, D.C and New York offices in ensuring smooth and effective operations of HR practices and policies. This role will be responsible for recruiting, employee relations, compliance, and various other HR functions. The ideal candidate has experience in a legal or professional services environment and understands the unique HR needs of law firms.Key Responsibilities :
Recruitment & Onboarding :
Manage the full-cycle recruitment process including job postings, screening, interviewing, and selection.Collaborate with department heads to understand staffing needs.Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and integration into the firm.Employee Relations :
Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, addressing concerns, and providing guidance on HR-related issues.Assist in resolving conflicts and promoting a positive work environment.Conduct exit interviews and provide feedback to management.Compliance & Legal Requirements :
Ensure the firm complies with local, state, and federal labor laws.Assist in the development and enforcement of firm policies and procedures.Maintain employee records and manage compliance with HR laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, etc.).Performance Management & Training :
Support the performance appraisal process and help managers with employee evaluations.Identify and coordinate professional development opportunities.Assist in the development of training programs and firm-wide HR initiatives.HR Administration & Reporting :
Maintain employee files and HR databases.Prepare and submit HR-related reports, including turnover analysis, and headcount.Support the HR department with special projects and initiatives as needed.Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.3+ years of experience in a similar HR role, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.Knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and legal compliance.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred but not required.
