Full TimePosition Overview:
The Senior HR Generalist is to aid in the administration and support of HR processes, procedures, systems, and our great team members. This person will lead all HR initiatives for the Chicago plant. This position is fully onsite and there is no hybrid or remote option at this time.Essential Job Functions:
Drive HR programs and policies for the plantLead employee communications for the siteResponsible for managing employee relations issues including but not limited to counseling, coaching, and corrective action.Manage all recruiting efforts for the site; full cycle recruiting with assistance from HR SpecialistFacilitate the internal job promotion and interview processCoordinate and facilitate a variety of employee meetings, engagement events, and trainingsManage site LOA’s including FMLA, STD, and personal leavesTrack, monitor and coach employees and supervisors on weekly attendanceCreate reward and recognition programs to drive performance in alignment with business objectivesOnboard new employees, facilitate new hire orientationsAssist Corporate EHS Coordinator to ensure compliance with annual Safety and Health compliance training. Assist with injuries, illnesses, and Workers CompensationSupport, mentor, and manage site HR SpecialistAssist Corporate HR team with company-wide projects and initiativesUpdate and maintain current job descriptionsMaintain HRIS accuracy for all employee recordsEnsure compliance with City of Chicago ordinances, other state and federal lawsEnsure proper record keeping and employee file maintenanceNon-Essential Job Functions:

Provided on the job and supplemented with external seminars/classes.Qualifications:
Education & Certifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required.Experience:
Minimum 7 years prior HR experience. Strong HR Generalist background required. Prior manufacturing experience highly preferred; bilingual in Spanish highly preferred. Prior union experience preferred but not required.Key Competencies:
Excellent verbal and written skills, ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels within the organizationAbility to lead initiatives that require project managementProfessionalism at all times and treating others with respect and appreciationMust work well in a fast paced environment and under pressure with competing prioritiesAccept responsibility for own actions and ensure strong follow-up on commitmentsAbility to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentationPhysical Requirements:
Long periods of sitting or standing at an individual workstation, heavy computer work.Working Conditions:
