Huhtamaki has immediate openings for Electrician Apprentices in the Fulton, New York facility. We are looking for new members to join our Electrical Department team who are aligned with our core values, commitment to excellence, customer service and accountability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Electrical Apprentice is an entry level technical position and will work directly with qualified electrical staff. He or she will learn to perform various skilled tasks in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial electrical equipment and electrical distribution systems such as; electrical panels, lighting, conveyor systems, power supplies, transformers, and motor controls. Proficient use of hand tools to measure, cut, bend, and install various wiring and conduit systems. The Electrical Apprentice will continuously develop and demonstrate working knowledge of electrical principles, tools and equipment.

Requirements:

Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, work ethics and learning. This job requires standing for long periods of time; climbing steps, walking extensively during a shift; frequently bending, kneeling, twisting; ability to lift objects up to 50 pounds unaided as needed; climb ladders and work at elevated heights as needed. Must be ale to work varying shifts, overtime and weekends as necessary. Must have good communication skills both written and verbal; have basic computer skills; good eye/hand coordination; able to differentiate colors; able to work in a wide range of ambient temperatures - inside buildings and outside work. Must be able to commit to four years of training followed by four years of service after completion of the electrical apprenticeship program. Post-secondary education and /or a technical trade certificates, industrial electrician training and experience are a plus.
