THE OPPORTUNITY:

The Sr. Logistics Analyst will support Transtar's logistics projects and initiatives. The main responsibility for this position is to ensure the effective utilization of all transportation tools and to be a transportation subject matter expert to support Transtar branches and DCs with information such as delivery ETAs, best transportation mode, best transportation carrier, bills of lading, and tenders to truckload carriers. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this position will be tasked to ensure that internal and external customers receive products on time and at the best cost. This will be done by leading and assisting on a multitude of cost savings projects, efficiency initiatives and through data analytics.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Extracts and merges data sets to interpret and analyzes various types of logistics data including availability of product, reliability of transport and delivery, and other data related to product supply chain management, sourcing, and distribution.Experienced in mode analysis and identifying opportunities for mode shifting.Reviews logistics processes and procedures; identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to maximize delivery efficiency while minimizing costs.Creates and manages various KPI reporting such as on-time, $/LB, damages, and transit time.Reports on all modes of transportation; carrier compliance, carrier performance and on-time deliveryPrepare reports and presentations to communicate logistics performance and recommendations to management.Stay current with industry trends and best practices in logisticsMaster in various logistical tools such as transportation management, parcel manifesting and FAP.Familiar with all modes of transportation, tariffs and carrier pricing models; able to lead pricing negotiations and analyze/compare carrier pricing proposals.Serve as the Transportation Management System SME for internal and external customers.• Comfortable with financial reporting; able to collaborate with Sales and Finance Departments to review opportunities and challenges.• Become efficient and utilize the JDE AS400 Query tool.• Additional tasks as required.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree preferred.Power BIMinimum 5-7 years of experience in logistics, distribution or supply chain.Extensive knowledge of shipping and distribution channels.Excellent analytical, trend analysis and problem-solving skills.Strong proficiency with MS Excel, MS Access and MS PowerPoint, Power BI experience a plusStrong verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work well under pressure on the phone and face to face in dealing with internal customers (Transtar distribution centers and branches).Strong business analysis skill set.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while setting priorities and managing tasks with effective organizational skills.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Transportation Logistics, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or other related field is an asset.10+ years of analytical experience, preferably in a supply chain environmentContract negotiationsExcel Expert
