We're looking for an HR rockstar to support our transportation terminals in the Northern Virginia Market!
This position is a field role that allows for 2-3 days of remote work per week with required travel in the field (a minimum of 2 days per week on a rotating basis) to our terminal locations in Manassas and Mt. Jackson, VA, Walkersville, MD and Kearneysville WV.

OVERVIEW
Provide HR support and partnership to assigned CLI Transportation Terminals and Sheetz Distribution Services (SDS)Transportation Terminals. Provide advanced level support in all areas of Human Resources, including, but not limited to, employee relations, leave administration, worker's compensation and promoting a positive culture. Maintain a thorough understanding and provide guidance in the transportation environment, which includes Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Provide guidance to managers and employees through interpreting company policies and administering procedures in compliance with all federal, state and local guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)
1. Respond to Terminal management, employees, and applicants regarding a broad range of human resources and employee relations issues on a daily basis. 2. Provide guidance, education, and training/development to Transportation Terminal Leadership regarding human resources issues to ensure fairness and consistency. 3. Collaborate with the CLI and SDS HR Business Partners to ensure alignment with business practices, where applicable. 4. Coordinate and conduct employee relations investigations in conjunction with terminal leadership, including approval and/or execution of disciplinary action up to and including termination in accordance with company policy. 5. Set up routine partnership meetings with all terminal leaders to balance employee, terminal leadership, and business needs. 6. In conjunction with Workforce Development, evaluate, develop, and conduct training materials for employees and managers related to human resources topics. Serve as a trainer/presenter at various company orientations, trainings and events. 7. Develop positive, collaborative, and effective working relationships with all Sheetz and CLI employees. 8. Support and organize Terminal events including but not limited to: Sheetz for the Kidz, Driver Appreciate Week, employee parties, etc. 9. Lead and execute special projects or HR initiative work as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)
Education • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field required
Experience • Minimum 5 years' general Human Resources experience required. • Previous experience working with DOT and FMCSA rules and guidelines preferred.
Travel • Travel to assigned CLI and SDS Terminals on a routine basis.
Licenses/Certifications • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP Certification preferred
