SDS HR Generalist I

The role currently requires staying until 8 PM twice a week to cover 2nd shift. The remaining three days will follow regular office hours.
OVERVIEW
Provide HR support to employees, Department Managers and Department Leads. Works closely with the HR Business Partner to resolve employee relations issues to ensure HR is providing consistent guidance and administration of policies and procedures in compliance with all federal, state and local guidelines and company policies.
RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned)
1. Respond to SDS Department Managers, SDS Department Leads, employees and applicants regarding a broad range of human resources and employee relations issues on a daily basis.
2. Coordinate and conduct basic Employee Relations investigations in conjunction with Management. Work directly with the HR Business Partner to provide recommendations of level of discipline or resolution in accordance with company policy.
3. Administers day to day HR functions such as onboarding, scheduling interviews, coordinating with applicants, etc. and provides employee support in regards to benefits, workers compensation, leave of absence, compensation and all other aspects of HR.
4. Serve as a trainer/presenter at various company orientations, trainings and events.
5. Collect and present data related to human resources and special projects.
6. Coordinate employee medical and workers' compensation leave, including the light duty accommodation process.
7. Facilitate and coordinate special events for SDS including, but not limited to, employee events, Sheetz For the Kids and employee recognition events.
QUALIFICATIONS
(Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resource or Business related field required
Experience
• No experience required
• Minimum 1 year of HR experience preferred
Licenses/Certifications
• PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-CP Certification preferred
