Government Relations Analyst

NFDA seeks a self-starter government relations professional to assist in execution of the association's government relations/advocacy strategy with a specific focus on federal legislative and regulatory activity who will report to the Senior Vice President of Advocacy.
This position is an onsite role in Brookfield, WI.
The Government Relations Analyst will play a critical role in the organization's advocacy strategy. This role involves monitoring and analyzing legislative and regulatory developments, preparing reports and policy briefs, and supporting the organization's advocacy initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have strong analytical skills, project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for public policy and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
Track and analyze federal, and state legislation and regulations relevant to the organization's mission.Prepare regular updates and briefings for internal stakeholders on key policy developments.Conduct research on policy issues and provide in-depth analysis of potential impacts on the organization's goals.Assist in the development and implementation of advocacy strategies and campaigns.Support the planning and execution of meetings with government officials, including preparing briefing materials and reports.Plays a key role in overseeing all facets of fundraising and compliance for the Political Action Committee (PAC) including strategic planning, fundraising initiatives, and event planning.Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and other events as needed.Maintain accurate records of legislative activities, interactions with policymakers, and other relevant data.Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external audiences.Draft and edit communication materials, including newsletters, fact sheets, and press releases related to policy issues.Coordinate with the communications team to ensure consistent messaging and effective outreach.
Assist with the planning and implementation of legislative fly-ins or fundraising events, which could include scheduling appointments, promoting events, and producing handouts and packetsWillingness to travel occasionally.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Business Administration.Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in government relations, public policy, or a related field.Strong understanding of legislative processes and government operations.Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.Experience working with government agencies, political organizations and/or non-profit organizations is preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with legislative tracking tools.Strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills along with the ability to consistently collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Attributes:
