Additionally, they are responsible for upholding a systematically organized work environment. In a leadership capacity, this role provides guidance and direction to a team of material handlers, ensuring a cohesive and efficient workflow.Job DescriptionEssential Duties & Responsibilities: Provide guidance and direction to a team of material handlers.Foster a collaborative and positive working atmosphere within the warehouse.Receives material into designated locations within the warehouse using the computer or WMS scanner.Oversee the receipt, inspection, and storage of incoming materials.Utilize inventory control systems for efficient material management.Operate forklifts to handle materials weighing up to (and possibly exceeding) 2000 lbs.Ensure timely provision of materials to production areas.Maintain cleanliness and organization of warehouse storage areas and loading docks.Implement and enforce safety protocols to create a secure work environment.Required Skills, Education, Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious experience in a lead or supervisory role within a warehouse setting.Proven experience in warehouse operations, with a focus on material handling.Strong leadership and team management skills.Forklift certification and demonstrated proficiency in forklift operation.Familiarity with inventory control systems.Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a warehouse environment.Ability to operate forklifts.Ability to operate pallet stretch-wrapping machine.Ability to operate cardboard baling machine.Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulationsExperience in reporting on key Inventory Control metricsProficient in MS Office and ERP softwareOutstanding communication abilityExcellent organizational and leaderships skillsAttention to detail.Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approachExperience with Six Sigma and Lean Concepts, preferred.BENEFITS AND PERKSMedical, Dental, Vision401(k) MatchPaid Time OffEarn a MattressPurple SwagAmazing Purple ProductsWHY WORK AT PURPLE?Make your mark: We value innovative thinking.
