Certification Details Required certifications: BLS. Job Details Large Level 1 hospital in Mississippi needs RN's for General MedSurg Unit. Must have solid experience as an RN - 1 or more years level 1 trauma experience PREFERRED or experience at a Very large medical center with a lot of surgeries/high acuity patients, must be comfortable with lines, chest tubes. EPIC CHARTING experience is required. Job Requirements Must have solid experience as an RN - 2 full years preferred with at least 6 mos of level 1 trauma experience or experience at a Very large medical center with a lot of surgeries/high acuity patients, must be comfortable with lines, chest tubes. WILL CONSIDER LESS than 2 yrs - if all prior experience has been in a Level 1 facility or experience at a Very large medical center with a lot of surgeries/high acuity patients. Schedule Information WILL CONSIDER 36/48 and 48 HR CONTRACTS (with OT billed after 48hrs). Must be flexible with RTO and SCHEDULE requests - All contractors will be expected to work half of all upcoming holidays. HOLIDAY TIME OFF cannot be guaranteed until all requests have been considered. Once the schedule is made, time off will be equitably allocated to balance the needs of the unit. Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hours, 7a-7p or 7p-7a. Managers will try to accommodate block scheduling as schedule allows. Open to weekenders if traveler would like to work every weekend but that is not required. Weekend Requirement: every other or 2 weekends per month is standard, could be higher to meet needs of the department. Holiday Requirement: rotate in with regular staff. Floating Requirements: within skillset, all staff float between all medsurg units, higher acuity patients would be given to core staff. Unit Specific Information General Bed Count: 32. Nurse to Patient Ratios: Typical ratio for all medsurg units is 1:5 up to 1:6 at times, ratio would be adjusted down for higher acuity patients. Common diagnoses/Types of patients: current General MedSurg. Are RNs required to titrate drips: heparin, could have an order for amio and that can be started and then patient would be transferred to cardiac unit. RT Equipment: cpap bipap at night. RT to help, high flow on 2n. Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Does the charge nurse take an assignment? Both. Nurse aids on this unit/Ratios: all units. Scrubs: Any color, needs to be solid color and professional. Additional Details BLS;FINGERPRINT REQUIREMENT. IN PERSON PROCESS can be printed in Jackson or Grenada MS the week prior to start (48 hr turn around). REMOTE PROCESS 10-14 days needed for processing).
