ESM is looking for a full-time
Desktop Support Technician
who demonstrates the following capabilities and satisfies the Minimum Qualifications, Clearance, and Certification requirements. Employee responsibilities include:
The candidate shall provide desktop support functions for computer systems at Nellis AFB including NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and JWICS workstations and local area networks, Video Teleconferencing hardware, software, and networks, and installed audio/video equipment.
The candidate shall administer system applications; manage and install system upgrades and software to include unit software license management. The candidate shall administer a wide range of computer platforms and operating systems including security functions; setup and manage user accounts; add system peripherals; and troubleshoot and diagnose system and software problems. The candidate shall administer local software components and monitor system performance; administer systems on unclassified and classified networks; identify technical refresh requirements for hardware and software within 30 days of known requirement. The candidate shall engineer and maintain a back-up storage solution and perform back-ups. The candidate shall use system vulnerability scanning software, apply software patches and updates to harden systems and mitigate findings as required (via software patches, as update CDs are received and/or via the AF DISA website); assist the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) with completing accreditation package requirements and documentation (for those systems that the candidate is not itself serving as ISSM); troubleshoot hardware and software issues; assist Squadron personnel with access and use of the connected systems.
When directed by the government, the candidate will assist with computer system, video teleconference, and audio/visual upgrades and changes. Specifically, the candidate will conduct research analysis on available hardware, software, peripherals, or other equipment to determine the most effective and cost-efficient options for satisfying government requirements. The candidate will assist the government in managing the purchase, delivery, installation, and configuration of any new systems, upgrades, or changes.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA)
Installation, troubleshooting, break/fix, software/application support to Windows desktop systems.
Use PXI to install workstation baseline images.
Working knowledge of Active Directory and user/group permissions.
Maintain baseline images using MECM, including patch management.
Printer installation, troubleshooting, configuration, and user support.
Mobile device support including IOS and Android phones, tablets, hotspots, etc.
Multimedia media and AV/VTC support such as MS Teams, Cisco (Web-Ex), Crestron, Polycom.
Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
Demonstrate initiative and be results oriented with flexibility and tenacity
Demonstrate the ability to continuously adjust priorities to reflect changing circumstances
Ability to work in a dynamic cross-organizational team environment
Strong dedication to provide quality customer service
Effective problem-solving skills and inherent decision-making ability
Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly identify the cause of issues with the system or determine if other teams need to be included in resolving an issue

Minimum Training, Education, and Certifications
Minimum of three years' experience working as a Desktop Support Technician.
Contractor employees performing Systems Administration tasks shall have a current IATII level certification in accordance with DoD8570 requirements (eg: Security+ ce certification
Minimum Clearance
Top Secret with ability to be adjudicated at the SCI level.
Physical Requirements
Required to stand, walk and sit; communicate verbally both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking (including stairs) throughout offices and between buildings. May require use of public transportation, personal or Government vehicle to drive to local and/or remote office locations.
