The Expedited Experienced Driver Recruiter performs a critical role in growing Covenant Transport Services’ driving fleet of safe, service-oriented, driving professionals. Recruiters will prioritize and screen applicants, schedule orientation and conduct follow up with the highest qualified candidates for open positions in accordance with DOT regulations, and Federal and State employment laws.
ResponsibilitiesPre-screen incoming driver candidate applicationsPersuade qualified candidates to consider the Company as their next employer by effectively communicating the opportunity with respect to the compensation, benefits, and culture of the organizationMake/receive outbound/inbound callsConduct phone interview with applicants to pre-qualify applicantsMinimize/eliminate disqualified applicantsConduct background investigations to properly verify the qualifications of the applicantRun various reports required to qualify driversEnter qualified leads into applicant data base, and ensure all verification information needed is accurately and thoroughly entered and/or providedFollow up with applicants to advise them of the progress of their applicationScheduling approved applicants to attend an OrientationIndependently manage time and resources to meet specified performance standards for the assigned geography and/or business unitDocumenting all recruiting activity and status of application in Tenstreet (ATS)Utilize ATS to correspond, follow up with applicants, and reschedule no showsProvide feedback weekly on lead numbers and qualityComplete daily, weekly, monthly reports as requiredAttend & participate in company related motivational/educational classesTouch all new applicants/reapplies within 24-36 hoursUnderstand each job description and benefits/requirements for open jobsConsistent inbound/outbound pipeline development effort on a weekly basisEmployee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of Covenant Transport ServicesQualifications
Knowledge Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to perform in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing deadlinesA high level of computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel is required (and will be tested); web-based databases and programs, email, etc. is required. Knowledge of Tenstreet other modern recruiting software is preferredOrganized and effective under pressure and be accountable for resultsSelf-motivated with sound reasoning abilities and problem-solving skillsStrong written and verbal communication with the ability to provide valuable and timely customer service to candidates, hiring managers and senior level managementTransportation industry experience, and/or a working knowledge of DOT regulations, is a plusEducation and ExperienceHigh School diploma or GEDSales or Telemarketing experience preferredCompetitive CompensationCovenant’s compensation philosophy’s intent is to use a competitive total compensation strategy to determine the current market value of a position while also considering individual factors such as performance in current position, time in seat of current position, experience, level of responsibility/accountability, and longevity with the company.
