Fuel your career with GEODIS and discover endless growth opportunities.Your role on the team:Leads the training and development programs for all associates.Procures technology and outsourcing opportunities for HR services.Recruits, selects, and evaluates HR staff throughout the organization.Provides monthly updates for corporate staff regarding new hires, policies, employment matters, and other announcements.Prepares and delivers reports on employment law activity to executive staff.Prepares and delivers weekly executive HR reports.Approves expenses and department purchases.Provides direction and advice to all levels of the organization for employee relations matters.Manages relationships with employment law firms across the organization.Responds to all government inquiries and charges that are employment related.Manages employment-related lawsuits and litigation.Negotiates union contracts in organized work locations.Responds to union grievances.Makes succession planning decisions and provides input to plans for other business units.Trains and develops HR staff for readiness in future positions.Writes, interprets, and communicates corporate policies owned by the HR department.Develops associate handbook and employee work rules for all business units.Works with the M&A team for employment-related matters during acquisitions.Provides HR support to start-up operations both domestically and internationally.Answers requests for information about employment matters during the RFP process.Approves requests and supervises investigations concerning acceptable use of information technology resources.
What you need:Minimum 10 years minimum experience in HR with a minimum of 5 years in staff management.Significant labor relations and employment law experience required.Multi-state and multi-site experience is required.In-depth knowledge of Canadian market
Bonus if you have:PHR or SPHR preferred.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
