Summary
The Category Analyst will serve as a key constituent to internal team members, management & external customers; Success in the role will be defined as the development and implementation of category initiatives to meet and exceed Hershey and customer financial objectives. The Category Analyst will be an expert in the pervasive application of insights to fuel category growth. Key to role is synthesizing business trends, competitive trends, shopper insights, financial insights, etc., to identify opportunities and develop solutions to drive category growth across the store. The Category Analyst will work closely with the CSE(s) and the customer to influence the development and implementation of category strategy & initiatives at key retailers such as Hy-Vee, and other strategic retailers within Food West.
ResponsibilitiesActs as a category expert to ensure the execution of the Strategic Business Plan to meet or exceed topline sales plan, net sales goals and achieve sales & share targets.Collaboratively work with the retailer and sales team to uncover insights and build action plans to drive profitable market share growth.Act as the indispensable consultative partner internally and externally, developing and driving key projects to achieve Hershey and customer financial objectives.Effectively penetrate horizontally and vertically to align key stakeholders on category lead initiatives.Utilization and application of traditional category management tools including, but not limited to: JDA, Syndicated Data (IRI), SOLVE and Numerator to ensure the execution and support of the strategic business plan.Support planogram responsibilities including strategic leadership of planogram recommendations and planogram development in JDA software.
Qualifications
*Education: Bachelor's Degree Required
*This position requires 1-3 years of Consumer Product Sales / Analytical Experience, ability to build dynamic relationships with Key Decision Makers, personal leadership experience, critical thinking, knowledge of syndicated data (IRI/Circana) a plus, working knowledge of Category Management process a plus.
