As a Controls Engineer at our esteemed facility, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of industrial machine controls within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Your role will extend beyond technical expertise, requiring hands-on project management skills to ensure the seamless integration of controls solutions into our production processes.

Job Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or similar and/or 5+ years of controls experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Full working knowledge of industrial machine controls and machine automation.
  • Significant experience in writing, programming, and trouble-shooting PLC programming in all generations of Allen-Bradley and Siemens controllers.
  • 5-10 years working with machine control systems, electronics, motors, and other electrical components.
  • 5-10 years of experience in electrical and mechanical service/maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer networks, switches, and IP protocol.
  • Works safely and is leader in the plant in promoting safe working conditions.
  • Willingness to train and mentor others in maintenance and controls knowledge
  • Approachable by team members of all levels for feedback and input • Clear communicator in both written and verbal.
  • Understand how to set priorities and ensure projects are completed on-time.

Position Duties

  • Support and manage plant control systems and automation systems.
  • Perform PLC support programming, troubleshooting, calibration, project implementation and network integration.
  • Justify and support new equipment installations as well as upgrades of existing equipment.
  • Demonstrate safe work habits and ensuring that all equipment operates in a safe manner.
  • Fully invested in supporting lean initiatives and leading improvement teams.
  • Write technical procedures and maintain machine documentation and drawings.
  • Troubleshooting and perform root cause analysis.
  • Provide technical support when equipment fails or is producing poorly.
  • Support predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Direct interface with machine operators, maintenance, management, and outside contractors/vendors
