The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.
In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within NYC, NY is $130K - $140K/year & benefits (see below).
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Data Steward to join our investment banking team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and a strong ability to analyze and resolve data quality issues. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and reliability of our data assets, supporting our commitment to informed decision-making and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Quality Assurance: Review large datasets for accuracy and consistency, identifying and resolving data quality issues proactively.
Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and concerns, providing timely updates on data quality metrics and issues.
Data Stewardship Strategy: Assist in the establishment, modification, and documentation of data stewardship strategies and initiatives to enhance data governance practices.
User Feedback Management: Utilize user feedback, concerns, and questions to evaluate and identify data-related issues, coordinating and implementing corrections regularly.
SQL Query Writing: Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and reporting to support various business needs.
Training and Development: Quickly grasp training concepts and apply them to improve data management practices within the organization.
Time Management: Prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Geographic Knowledge: Leverage good global geographic knowledge to enhance data analysis and reporting capabilities.
Independent Work: Demonstrate the ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Management, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
Proven experience in trade operations/settlement within an investment banking context.
Strong experience in data stewardship or related roles.
Skills:
Excellent command over English communication (both written and spoken).
Logical reasoning and critical thinking abilities.
Strong organizational skills with a focus on decision-making.
Proficient in SQL for data analysis purposes.
Strong interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management.
