Battery Application Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Work with the heavy-duty truck build team by providing battery solutions on applications and technical concerns
· Act as a Subject Matter Expert on battery products and the related applications
· Identify lithium-ion battery technologies including chemistry/cell/pack; working with the Truck
· Initiate pack tests, monitor and maintain test integrity
· Provide technical expertise for developing the appropriate tests
· Collect, organize, process, and analyze large quantities of cell and pack test data to evaluate performance.
· Assist Engineering, Manufacturing and QC departments with testing; to ensure that products meet the truck build expectations, within the agreed deadlines.
· Write application notes and technical solutions, as required.
· Up to 20% domestic and international travel may be expected for this position
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
:· Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred
)· 3+ years hands-on experience in application experience in batterie
s· Experience in pack design parameters and critical process parameter
s· Experience in battery pack tests for validation of performance, reliability, and safety, along with battery test conditions/requirement
s· Experience with automotive applications, including design, measurement and instrumentation, control
s· Understanding of Hybrid Battery and Hybrid Vehicle operation
s· Ability to work non-standard hours to collaborate with suppliers in different time zone
s· Excellent teamwork, communication and interpersonal skill
s· High level understanding of hardware and software design and failure modes in electronic module
s· Strong communication and organizational skill
s· Problem-solving skills involving complex system
s· Proficient in MS Office
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
:· 3+ years Project Management experienc
e· Knowledge of hybrid/electric vehicle configurations and control
s· Understanding of operation and power electronic controls of (BMS) Battery Monitoring System, DCDC, Charger and Motor Inverte
r· Knowledge of vehicle serial data communications (CAN(SAE J1939), LIN, Ethernet) and electrical architecture
s· Knowledge of mechatronics, microcontroller architectures, memory technologies, and programmin
g· Knowledge of automotive functional safety (ISO26262) standard
s· Experience using Catia V5/V6 or similar tool
s· Experience with electrical and EMC testin
