Sr. IT End User Technology Engineer

The Senior IT End User Technology Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting end-user technology solutions to enhance productivity and efficiency across the organization. This role involves managing complex IT systems, troubleshooting advanced technical issues, and collaborating with various departments to ensure that end-user technology meets the needs of the business. A successful candidate will be able to collect and analyze business requirements, recommend improvements, facilitate cross-team design and architecture discussions and assure a smooth transition of solutions to Omron’s operation teams. This role provides technical expertise throughout the Americas while realizing the strategic goals of Corporate Headquarters.

Responsibilities:

Design and Implementation:

  • Develop and maintain the end-user technology solutions, including hardware, software, and network components.
  • Create and enforce standards and guidelines for end-user devices and applications
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of end-user technology solutions.

Technical Support

  • Provide advanced-level support for end-user technology, resolving escalated issues from IT support teams when required, ensuring minimal downtime for end users.

System Maintenance and Management:

  • Perform regular system updates, patches, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Manage and maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, and other user management tools.
  • Oversee and administer endpoint protection solutions including antivirus, antimalware, and encryption.

Hardware and Software Deployment:

  • Working closely with other IT teams, plan and execute the deployment of new hardware and software and the recovery with proper disposal of obsolete equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to procure, provision and install equipment and software, maintaining accurate inventory records of all end-user technology assets.

Performance Monitoring and Improvement:

  • Monitor and analyze system performance metrics to identify and address potential issues proactively.
  • Implement best practices for end-user technology to enhance efficiency, reliability, and security.

Technical Documentation and Training:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including user guides, troubleshooting procedures, and system configurations.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions to IT Support teams and end-users to understand their needs an provide timely solutions.

Innovation:

  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in end-user computing. Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies to improve user experience and productivity.
  • Other duties and miscellaneous projects as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT with a focus on end-user technology and support. Including 3 years in a senior or lead role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, MacOS, and mobile operating systems.
  • Experience with enterprise software deployment, endpoint management tools. (e.g. Tanium), and virtual desktop environments.
  • Strong understanding of networking principles and security practices related to end-user technology.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based productivity tools (e.g. Office 365, Google Workspace) and collaboration platforms.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Experience in a large enterprise or global environment.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
  • Experience with automation and scripting (e.g. Powershell, Python)
