Test Engineer - Contract

Test Engineer

You will be responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of test strategies, specifications, and plans. You will contribute to the design, build and implementation of test automation suites that provide testing of the products. As part of a small team, your creative product test will directly support the customer experience and advance the leadership in this growing market.

Key areas of focus:

• Test planning

  Create test plans and strategies, and outline testing conditions

  
  

• Testing

  Perform tests on products, components, and systems, including software, hardware, and integrated systems

  
  

• Data analysis

  Study test results and identify defects or malfunctions

  
  

• Reporting

  Create technical reports with findings and recommendations for improvement

  
  

• Quality control

  Develop and implement quality control procedures to be used in production

  
  

• Collaboration

  Work with production and testing teams, and provide feedback to improve the software development process

  
  

Required Education

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering

Required Experience

• 2 or more years of previous work experience in WAN/LAN/OLAN testing or equivalent experience in technical training and or continuing education
• Working experience of Networking (OSI model and protocols) with a focus on L2 (e.g. LLDP, xSTP, ACLs, MAB, 802.1x)
• Participated in automated test development with a preference to using Quali Systems Cloudshell/Testshell automation development tools
• Expertise in Python programming language and script generation
• Hands on experience using traffic generators such as IXIA or Spirent test Center
