As our team builds and supports new applications at a rapid pace, we are looking for exceptional Mainframe and cloud architect. The Core Receivables Program is a IT Strategic initiative to replace a set of legacy mainframe auto loan servicing applications, Shaw (Retail) and LeMans (Lease), with a COTS product. In order to successfully convert the mainframe legacy system to the new platform, we need to have an accurate understanding of the AS-IS legacy system. We are looking for a Mainframe and cloud architect to analyze the existing mainframe system source code, document the data logic and usage, and provide data conversion recommendation for the program.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Expertise in Mainframe modernization cloud analyzer tool (specialized in Microfocus Analyzer) and discovery assessments.
  • Expertise in Modernization target state architecture SAD.
  • Expertise in Mainframe to Cloud Data replication tools, Qlik, Informatica Power Exchange V10.5 and R4Z
  • Integrate mainframe applications with the Microfocus Analyzer tool for better management and visibility.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of mainframe application components using the Microfocus Analyzer tool.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand application design and dependencies.
  • Utilize Microfocus Analyzer to understand existing codebase(Cobol, Pl1, ASM), integration(FTP, Network, Application) and dependencies within mainframe applications.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all mainframe application components identified by the Microfocus Analyzer.
  • Document and provide assessment findings on existing Mainframe footprints, risks, and gaps in current Mainframe Application footprints.
  • Develop a comprehensive strategy for migrating and modernizing mainframe applications to the cloud.
  • Collaborate with apps teams to review existing modernization approaches and streamline workflows for all dependencies.
  • Address challenges related to data migration, interoperability, and communication between Mainframe and modernization target state.
  • Assess the feasibility, risks, and benefits of cloud adoption for specific mainframe workloads.
  • Design scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures that integrate with existing mainframe systems.
  • Implement modernization strategies by developing new cloud-native applications or adapting existing mainframe applications for the cloud.
  • Expertise in Mainframe Application Batch, database components, and scheduling tool knowledge.
  • Collaborate with the Applications, Infrastructure teams, and Cloud strategy architect to decommission the Application component for Mainframe Sunset.
  • Develop and execute a detailed plan for decommissioning the mainframe application footprint with the Infrastructure team.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to identify all dependencies and ensure that no critical processes are disrupted.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with the decommissioning process.
  • Validate the completeness and accuracy of the migrated data.
  • Develop backup and recovery strategies for the mainframe environment to ensure all components are accounted for before decommissioning.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Participate in OrangePeople monthly team meetings, and participate in team-building efforts.
  • Contribute to OrangePeople technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
  • Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
  • Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested.
