JOB SUMMARY: The IT Asset Management Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the overall IT organization's assets throughout their lifecycle. Develop strategies and lead overall inventory and asset management functions for the NCLH Information Technology departments. This includes planning, acquiring, deploying, tracking, and retiring IT assets to ensure optimal utilization, compliance, and cost-effectiveness onboard the ships and in the shoreside offices. This position is crucial to establish a single point of contact for overseeing and managing the lifecycle of all IT assets within the organization.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement IT asset management policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Plan and execute the acquisition and deployment of IT assets based on the organization's needs, budget, and strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams to negotiate contracts, pricing, and licensing agreements for IT assets.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure proper configuration, maintenance, and security of assets throughout their lifecycle.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive inventory of all IT assets, including hardware, software, licenses, and peripherals.
- Monitor and enforce software license compliance and ensure adherence to licensing terms and conditions.
- Conduct regular audits and physical inventories to validate asset information and identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Utilize IT asset management tools and systems to track and monitor asset lifecycle, usage, and maintenance.
- Maintain a centralized repository of asset-related information, including documentation, warranties, licenses, and support agreements.
- Analyze asset data and generate reports to provide insights on asset utilization, costs, and performance to support decision-making and budget planning.
- Develop and deliver training programs and workshops to educate end-users and stakeholders on IT asset management processes and policies.
- Perform other job-related duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
DEGREE TYPE: Bachelor's Degree
FIELD(S) OF STUDY: Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years' experience as an IT Professional
- 3+ years IT Asset Management experience, preferably in supervisory role
- Proven Project Management & Change Management experience
- Experience with purchase requisitions, purchase orders, contracts, negotiations, and managing relationships with IT vendors and suppliers.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:
- Proficiency in using IT asset management tools & systems.
- Familiarity with SaaS Cloud solutions e.g. ServiceNow, WASP, Ariba SAP is highly desirable.
- Hardware and Software Knowledge: A strong understanding of various hardware components, device types, and software applications is necessary. This includes knowledge of desktops, laptops, servers, networking equipment, peripherals, operating systems, productivity software, and enterprise software systems.
- Knowledgeable in Systems Integration.
- Project management & familiarity with collaboration tools are essential.
- Familiarity with ITIL Framework: Knowledge of the IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework and its asset management practices is advantageous. Understanding ITIL concepts such as service asset and configuration management (SACM)
- Understanding IT security principles and risk management is essential. IT security principles and risk management is essential for protecting sensitive data and mitigating risks associated with IT assets. Knowledge of security protocols, access controls, data privacy regulations, and risk assessment methodologies is beneficial.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting is valuable for generating insights and making data-driven decisions. Strong skills in Excel or other spreadsheet software can help in analyzing asset data, generating reports, and presenting key findings to stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of IT asset management principles, best practices, and industry standards.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and contract negotiation.
- Familiarity with software licensing models, compliance requirements, and software asset management practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex asset management issues.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in maintaining asset records and conducting audits.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
- ITIL, Certified Software Asset Manager are highly desirable.
