IT Asset Management Lead (Hardware & Software)

We are looking for an IT Asset Management Lead for a major firm headquartered in CT.

This is a contract to hire role, no third-party resumes please.

MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN BOTH SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE ASSET MANAGEMENT

If in CT, must be onsite once a week if out of CT but commutable, every other week - 1 day.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, monitor, and record the software license assets for the organization (governance, compliance and accuracy)
  • Develop and promote an effective software strategy, policy, and best practices within the organization
  • Work with business stakeholders to manage the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of the IT asset repositories (CMDB or similar)
  • Perform verification and auditing of the asset management database for efficiency
  • Make sure the content of the database is accurate
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of software assets including version control, licensing details and usage statistics
  • Establish and maintain documentation of procedures, processes, and reports concerning asset and configuration management
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies related to asset management.
  • Perform research on industry best practice and incorporate it with organizational practices
  • Perform regular reconciliations between the in-house developed asset management platform (HUB) and enterprise platform (ServiceNow) to align asset data and address discrepancies.
  • Perform regular reconciliations between the in-house developed Software Request Tool platform (SORETO) and enterprise platform (Tanium) to align software installations and address discrepancies.
  • Review and update asset deployment procedures to comply with company policies and RTRC requirements.
  • Regularly audit asset data in both systems to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in hardware and software asset management (licensing, procurement, IT Operations, etc)
  • Strong understanding of ITIL principles and best practices.
  • Experience with ITIL, ITSM or ITAM tools are required
  • ServiceNow experience a plus
  • Experience in software such as Microsoft, SharePoint a plus
  • Ability to analyze data and provide insights
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Bachelor's degree or similar
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Ability to work with large data sets
  • Proficiency in Excel is a plus
