IT Asset Management Lead (Hardware & Software)

We are looking for an IT Asset Management Lead for a major firm headquartered in CT.
This is a contract to hire role, no third-party resumes please.
MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE IN BOTH SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE ASSET MANAGEMENT
If in CT, must be onsite once a week if out of CT but commutable, every other week - 1 day.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, monitor, and record the software license assets for the organization (governance, compliance and accuracy)
- Develop and promote an effective software strategy, policy, and best practices within the organization
- Work with business stakeholders to manage the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of the IT asset repositories (CMDB or similar)
- Perform verification and auditing of the asset management database for efficiency
- Make sure the content of the database is accurate
- Maintain an accurate inventory of software assets including version control, licensing details and usage statistics
- Establish and maintain documentation of procedures, processes, and reports concerning asset and configuration management
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies related to asset management.
- Perform research on industry best practice and incorporate it with organizational practices
- Perform regular reconciliations between the in-house developed asset management platform (HUB) and enterprise platform (ServiceNow) to align asset data and address discrepancies.
- Perform regular reconciliations between the in-house developed Software Request Tool platform (SORETO) and enterprise platform (Tanium) to align software installations and address discrepancies.
- Review and update asset deployment procedures to comply with company policies and RTRC requirements.
- Regularly audit asset data in both systems to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Strong background in hardware and software asset management (licensing, procurement, IT Operations, etc)
- Strong understanding of ITIL principles and best practices.
- Experience with ITIL, ITSM or ITAM tools are required
- ServiceNow experience a plus
- Experience in software such as Microsoft, SharePoint a plus
- Ability to analyze data and provide insights
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Bachelor's degree or similar
- Project management experience is a plus
- Ability to work with large data sets
- Proficiency in Excel is a plus
