We are seeking a skilled Laser Reliability and Failure Analysis Engineer to join our team in Santa Clara, CA. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the reliability of semiconductor lasers through various testing and analysis methods. Key responsibilities include performing Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), defining reliability tests, and conducting failure analysis to gain insights into failure mechanisms.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure modes and their effects on semiconductor lasers.
- Define and execute reliability tests to evaluate the performance and longevity of semiconductor lasers under various conditions.
- Conduct failure analysis using advanced metrology techniques to understand the root causes of failures and improve product reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement design improvements and preventive measures based on failure analysis findings.
- Generate comprehensive reports documenting reliability test results, failure analysis findings, and recommendations for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in semiconductor laser technology to continuously improve reliability testing and analysis methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in reliability testing and analysis of commercial semiconductor lasers.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in semiconductor laser failure analysis and metrology.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field is required; Ph.D. preferred.
- Proficiency in Telecordia standards and methodologies is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with industry standards and specifications for semiconductor laser reliability testing.
- Proficiency in FMEA techniques and reliability testing methodologies.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as JMP.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
