Position Overview:

We are seeking a Director of Mining Services to oversee large-scale dirt work projects at active mine sites regulated by MSHA. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in identifying, bidding, and managing complex earthwork jobs, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while maximizing operational efficiency and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Identification and Bidding: Lead efforts to identify and pursue large-scale dirt work projects, preparing competitive bids that align with company goals and MSHA regulations.
• Project Management: Oversee all phases of project execution, from initial planning and budgeting to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget constraints.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all operations adhere to MSHA regulations and best practices in safety, environmental stewardship, and operational efficiency.
• Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies to facilitate project success and compliance.
• Cost Control and Performance Metrics: Implement effective cost control measures and performance metrics to optimize project efficiency and profitability.
• Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends and opportunities for bidding on new projects, enhancing the company’s competitive position in the industry.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in mining operations, specifically managing large-scale earthwork and dirt work projects in active mine sites regulated by MSHA.
• Proven experience in project bidding, cost estimation, and financial management for complex mining operations.
• In-depth knowledge of MSHA regulations and mining safety best practices.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
• Proficiency in project management software, budgeting tools, and CRM systems.
