Senior Project Engineer

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications. Prepare engineering submittals for projects. Ensure continuous improvements on products offered to the foundation construction, geotechnical anchoring, and slope stabilization industry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide technical guidance and review of cost estimates to engineering and sales team.
  • Work closely with Sales to help identify customer needs and product requirements.
  • Oversee preparation of product drawings and project submittals, ensuring compliance with contract documents and basic engineering principles.
  • Plan, organize, communicate, and execute product approval submittals to public and private agencies.
  • Design new products, develop modifications of existing products, and develop test procedures.
  • Provide internal and external technical support of product applications and resolution of technical problems. Provide technical training to Sales Team.
  • Assist the Marketing and Sales Departments in developing and coordinating marketing plans, new product launches and a consistent external corporate identity.
  • Develop value engineered solutions and prepare preliminary concepts and designs for proposals. Evaluate and approve design changes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering concentration required. Master’s degree preferred with 6-8 years of Engineering within the Construction Industry.
  • Knowledge of both structural and geotechnical engineering principals.
  • Knowledge of ASCE, ASME, ASTM, AISC, ACI and PTI codes and experience in their applications.
  • In depth knowledge of Anchored Earth Retention, Foundation Design and Construction or Post-Tensioning.
  • Must be self-motivated, disciplined, and professional. Analytical and skilled in troubleshooting, identification of customer needs and challenges, market knowledge.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD or similar software.
  • PE license in any state.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasional travel throughout North America is required.

  • The work environment includes business office, traveling to conferences with some construction site visits.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel reach with hands and arms: and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to sit, stand; walk; and stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to forty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
