The Project Engineer of Post-Tensioning and Repair and Strengthening is responsible for projects in the area of buildings and bridges that are supplied by DYWIDAG and will work on the preparation of engineering submittals as well as technical support to field operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepare engineering calculations and installation drawings for post-tensioning and reinforcing applications including repair and strengthening of infrastructures such as buildings, bridges, tanks, etc. Knowledge of carbon fiber reinforced polymer system is preferred.
- Oversee and direct detailers in the preparation of shop drawings for assigned projects.
- Participate in product development, testing, and certification projects.
- Provide technical support to project managers and field operation teams.
- Communicate with contractors and design engineering firms, as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Engineering concentration required.
- Master’s degree preferred with 3-5 years of Engineering within the Construction Industry.
- Knowledge of civil and structural engineering principals.
- Knowledge of codes such as ACI, PTI PCI, AASHTO, AISC, etc. required.
- Experience in post-tensioning and use of structural analysis and CAD software.
- Must be self-motivated, disciplined, and professional. Analytical and skilled in troubleshooting, identification of customer needs and challenges, market knowledge.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD or similar software.
- PE license in any state. If does not have, should get in a year.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Occasional travel throughout North America is required for visiting job sites and attending conferences.

- The work environment includes business office, traveling to conferences with some construction site visits.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel reach with hands and arms: and talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to sit, stand; walk; and stoop, kneel or crouch.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to forty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
