JOB SUMMARY

The Product Information Specialist is responsible for the creation, organization, and dissemination of accurate and comprehensive product data catalog. This role requires close collaboration with external vendors and internal cross-functional teams to collect, analyze, and implement data-driven solutions. The Product Information Specialist is also responsible for maintaining strong relationships with vendor partners and ensuring the integrity of the company's product database and sample library. The successful candidate will contribute to the seamless flow of information within our organization, supporting data-driven processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and update the product data catalog, including product descriptions, specifications, and pricing information.
  • Work closely with product managers, subject matter experts, and lab operations to deepen understanding of product features and contribute toward continuous improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data, and to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Follow established data standards, guidelines, and procedures to ensure reliable and timely product data is maintained across all platforms.
  • Proactively maintain relationships with vendor partners and collaborate to secure necessary data and samples.
  • Assist in the generation of accurate and compelling product information, including product descriptions, specifications, user guides, FAQs, knowledge base articles, and marketing collateral.
  • Research and compile insights on manufacturers, products, and industry trends to support strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct regular audits of existing product information to identify and address gaps, inaccuracies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Serve as a product information subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to cross-functional teams.
  • Work closely with the customer experience department in addressing inquiries related to product data and providing accurate information to enhance customer satisfaction.

ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, college degree preferred
  • Two (2) years of job-related experience required flooring industry experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • High level of proficiency with Excel is essential.
  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in interpreting data for decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels and external vendors.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and proactive in identifying and resolving issues.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.

PREFERRED

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data tools such as PowerQuery and SQL.
  • Familiarity with data reporting platforms like PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Experience with automation and integration tools such as PowerAutomate or MuleSoft.
  • Willingness to occasionally travel out of state, up to 2 nights, 2-4 times per year.
