A Snapshot of Your Day

3rd shift rotor horizontal machinist sets up and operates the CNC (Complex Numeric Control) horizontal boring and slotter machines in order to perform various operations on a variety of parts and components

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Set up and operate the CNC (Complex Numeric Control) horizontal boring and slotter machines in order to perform various operations on a variety of parts and components.
  • Set up and operates one or more of the following machines: Ingersoll CNC Floor Type Horizontal Boring Mill, Giddings & Lewis CNC Floor Type Horizontal Boring Mill, Giddings & Lewis CNC Travelling Column Horizontal Boring Mill, Ingersoll CNC Horizontal Slotting Machine, Mazak CNC 5-axis machining center including setup cell and pallet tech, as well as various manual drills and Bridgeport mills.
  • Position is also responsible for mentoring of employees in the Siemens Apprentice Program.
  • Work in other areas of the campus on other products as needed.

What You Bring

  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Need to have 1-3 years of industrial-mechanical experience using CNC controls.
  • Require a basic knowledge of machine shop operations, together with the use of complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables, various types of precision measuring instruments and/or the training generally applicable in this particular or specialized occupation
  • Ability to obtain fork truck and crane license. Prefer to have previous experience.
  • Must pass math competency / balancer exam.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
