Construction Estimator

Our client, a full-service restoration and reconstruction company in Houston TX, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by providing accurate cost estimates for various construction projects.

8 hour shifts, great benefits.

Must have at least 1 year of Construction Estimating experience to be considered

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and overhead.

• Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.

• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best prices.

• Utilize software tools such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam for efficient estimation processes.

• Collaborate with project management teams to assess project requirements and timelines.

• Conduct site visits to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.

• Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

• Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid proposals and presenting estimates.

Requirements

• Xactimate experience required. - Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role in the construction industry.

• Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.

• Proficiency in estimation software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam.

• Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on contract management.

• Ability to analyze complex data and provide clear recommendations based on findings.

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in pricing and documentation.

• Familiarity with cost control measures and budgeting processes in construction projects.

• Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and team members.
