Scrum Master

Job Title: Scrum Master (Contract Basis)

Location: Hybrid in Detroit, MI – Onsite 2 days / week

Contract Length: 6 months

Type: W2 ONLY, No C2C or third-party candidates, please

Position Summary:

We’re seeking a Scrum Master with a proven track record of successfully managing cross-functional project teams in an Agile environment. In this role, you will collaborate with developers, quality analysts, business analysts, and project sponsors to drive efficient project execution, with a focus on Agile coaching, schedule management, and removing impediments for the team.

Key Responsibilities:

-Team Leadership and Collaboration:

• Lead diverse project teams to deliver successful outcomes, facilitating effective communication among team members with varying skill sets.

-Project Scheduling and Management:

• Define project schedules, and manage budgets, scope, and risks while maintaining alignment with stakeholders.

-Agile Coaching and Facilitation:

• Act as Scrum Master, guiding project teams through Agile principles, processes, and ceremonies, promoting continuous improvement and engagement.

-Deployment Planning and Status Reporting:

• Oversee deployment planning and provide consistent updates to both project and executive team members.

-Process Improvement Initiatives:

• Champion process improvements to optimize project outcomes and enhance team performance.

Skills and Qualifications:

-Experience:

• 7+ years in IT Project Management
• 5+ years managing projects in Agile environments
• Insurance industry experience is a bonus

-Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems or a related field
• PMP or PMP-ACP certification (preferred)

-Technical Skills:

• Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
• Proficiency with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Rally)
• Familiarity with Agile engineering practices, such as Test Driven Development
