Position Overview

As an Estimator at Venture, you’ll play an essential role in generating and managing estimates for both current and potential projects. Working closely with project managers, you’ll provide estimates, budget control, and studies that guide our projects from the business development phase through pre-construction and into construction. This role spans all project scopes, systems, and assemblies, making it key to the success of Venture’s commercial and multi-family projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain accurate pre-construction and construction estimates in collaboration with project managers
  • Lead project lump sum bidding processes and resolve technical details in the pre-construction phase
  • Build estimates grounded in design, constructability, logistics, and sequencing knowledge
  • Cultivate subcontractor relationships for estimating, bidding, and project awards
  • Prepare estimate presentations, budget control reports, and documentation for client presentations
  • Conduct comprehensive quantity take-offs and maintain quantity controls across all disciplines, including civil, structural, finishes, mechanical, and electrical

What You Need to Succeed

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering with 5+ years in pre-construction/estimating, or an equivalent blend of education and experience
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch-Up, estimating software (e.g., On-Screen, Bluebeam), and proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, processes, and management practices
  • Ability to interpret construction documents and apply them effectively to estimating
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders, from subcontractors to project teams and company leadership

Compensation & Benefits

Venture offers a competitive compensation range of $110,000 to $160,000 annually, with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support you and your family:
