Position Overview
The Finance FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) Data Engineer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines that empower FP&A teams to make data-driven financial decisions. This role will involve close collaboration with finance, analytics, operations, business and technology teams to ensure that data solutions align with business objectives, streamline financial reporting, and enhance forecasting accuracy. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, finance-savvy, and capable of transforming data into actionable insights through scalable data infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Data Infrastructure Development:
- Design, build, and maintain efficient and reliable data sets, using existing infrastructure and tools, in a standardized way
- Develop ETL processes for aggregating, cleaning, and structuring data from multiple financial and operational systems for more complex management reporting
Data Modeling and Analytics Support:
- Create and maintain data models, ensuring data consistency, integrity, and scalability.
- Support FP&A team in financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting activities through efficient data extraction and transformation processes using ERP and portfolio management systems, while enhancing data
- Develop and maintain financial and management date sets and work with data analytics teams enable insightful and actionable FP&A reporting, including budgeting, forecasting and scenario analysis
Automation and Efficiency:
- Automate manual data processes and reporting to optimize team efficiency and reduce reporting cycle time using available company tools such as Power Query and Power BI
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement within data workflows, focusing on automation and repeatability.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with FP&A, M&A, accounting, operations, data analytics and business intelligence teams to understand operational, financial and management data requirements and ensure timely delivery of high-quality data.
- Translate finance and business needs into technical requirements, and manage stakeholder expectations for data projects.
- Present to management on work done, options available and suggest ways to improve processes
Data Quality, Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and compliance with data governance and financial regulatory standards deployed within the firm
- Establish data validation protocols and collaborate with other functions and data owners on common firm’s data sets
- Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of data sources, models, and pipeline processes.
- Follow best practices in data engineering, including version control, security, and change management procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role within Finance or FP&A or business data analytics teams
- Hands-on experience with financial data systems, ERP systems (e.g., SAPWorkday), and FP&A tools (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with Python or other programming languages commonly used in data engineering.
- Experience with data pipeline and ETL tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend, SSIS) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Familiarity with financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting practices.
- Some experience in project management and workflow management tools is a plus

Physical Requirements
- This position requires the physical capabilities to work in an office environment, which may include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. - This position is required to work onsite 4 days per week.

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
