Job Summary

We seek a highly skilled Controls Service Technician with a strong background in building automation systems (BAS) to join our team in Portland, OR. This role focuses on servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining HVAC control systems within commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience building automation controls, specializing in BACnet, DDC controls, Tridium Niagara, ALC, Alerton, and Distech.

Key Responsibilities

  • Service and troubleshoot building automation control systems, including HVAC systems, to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency in commercial buildings.
  • Perform routine system maintenance and repairs using protocols such as BACnet, DDC, and other related automation technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to resolve system issues and provide technical support for building automation systems, including ALC, Alerton, Tridium Niagara, and Distech platforms.
  • Utilize software tools like Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Project to interpret system schematics, update documentation, and manage project timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national safety codes and maintain detailed service reports and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in building automation controls service, specifically in commercial HVAC systems.
  • Expertise with BACnet, DDC controls, ALC, Alerton, Tridium Niagara, and Distech systems.
  • Strong technical skills, with proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, MS Project, and other related software for system documentation and project management.
  • A local and stable work history, demonstrating a commitment to the region and industry.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
