Role Description

A Magic+Might Senior UX Writer is a strategic thinker and creative storyteller who works fluidly across all phases of product development. They collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support intuitive and delightful user experiences. Their day-to-day focus is on crafting clear, engaging, and meaningful content for interactive products.

Beyond writing, a Senior UX Writer at Magic+Might plays a crucial role in shaping product strategy and advocating for user-centered design with our clients. They possess a deep understanding of user experience, product design, service design, and product development. This foundation enables them to align content solutions with strategic product objectives, clearly articulate their rationale, and refine their work through iterative feedback.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Content Strategy
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and plan content strategies that align with product and user goals.

  • Production Content
    Write and edit clear, engaging, and user-centered content for interactive products and services, including microcopy, user flows, in-app messaging, and error messages.

  • Client Presentations
    Create, edit, and deliver presentations that articulate content strategies, rationale, and outcomes to clients and stakeholders.

  • Content Standards
    Create and/or work within established content guidelines and style manuals, voice and tone standards, and content inventories to ensure consistency and scalability.

  • User Research
    Assist in planning, conducting, and synthesizing user research to craft insights for content decisions and improve the user experience.

  • Iterative Content Development
    Work collaboratively and proactively with designers, researchers, and product managers to refine content through iterative feedback and testing.

  • Review & Critique
    Engage in team critiques to review and refine user experience, offering constructive feedback to peers and incorporating their feedback into your own work.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Communications, English, or a related field
  • Background in UX Writing or Content Strategy
    Experience in creating user-centered content for digital products (particularly mobile applications), with a focus on clarity, consistency, and usability.

  • Strong Communication Skills
    Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate content strategies and rationales to diverse audiences.

  • Understanding of User-Centered Design
    Fundamental knowledge of user-centered design methodologies and the product development process, with a focus on how content supports overall design goals. Understanding of

    information architecture and how content is organized and structured within digital products.
  • Experience with UX Research
    Familiarity with research methodologies, including user testing, A/B testing, and content audits, to inform and improve UX and content strategies.

  • Attention to Detail and Task Completion
    Strong focus on accuracy and quality, with the ability to proactively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Experience collaborating with product managers to ensure content aligns with overall product goals and business objectives.
  • Proficiency in Content Tools
    Working knowledge of collaborative design tools and workspaces (such as Figma) and experience using content management systems and writing tools.

  • Bonus Skills
    Experience with prototyping tools like Figma, Protopie, and familiarity with design system libraries. Ability to contribute to

    service design discussions, particularly around the role of content in an end-to-end user experience.
