Job Summary: As a Scala Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable applications that support our financial services. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and implement solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop robust, scalable, and high-performance applications using Scala.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Implement RESTful APIs and microservices architecture to enhance application functionality.
  • Optimize application performance and ensure high availability and reliability of financial systems.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure software quality.
  • Work with data processing frameworks like Apache Spark to handle large datasets efficiently.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to Scala and financial services.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Scala Developer, preferably in the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of functional programming concepts and design patterns in Scala.
  • Experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of financial products, risk management, or trading systems is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Akka, Play Framework, or similar Scala frameworks.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
