We are looking for an experienced engineer in the field of automation engineering with automotive background. The Controls Engineer will work to produce software packages, on schedule and on budget, to meet the customer contract requirements and the customer expectations. Develop and design control software, integrate software with electrical and mechanical systems and perform the commissioning at customer sites.
We are looking for a Senior Controls Engineer. This position will be based in Greenville, SC. Relocation will be considered for candidates within the continental US.

We are looking for an experienced engineer in the field of automation engineering with automotive background. The Controls Engineer will work to produce software packages, on schedule and on budget, to meet the customer contract requirements and the customer expectations. Develop and design control software, integrate software with electrical and mechanical systems and perform the commissioning at customer sites.
We are looking for a Senior Controls Engineer. This position will be based in Greenville, SC. Relocation will be considered for candidates within the continental US.
You'll make an impact by:
- Engineering and commissioning software only for SIEMENS SIMATIC controllers and HMIs. Your software will be used in automotive plants on our automation equipment to help our customers build their products.
- Responsible for PLC/HMI code development, code installation, debug on job site, and commissioning of the complete system
- Active role in the creation of new automated systems as well as the optimizing of existing ones
- Commissioning of components, systems and solutions at customer site
- Planning the required activities.
- Preparation of reports and documentation of the commissioning results.
- Analyzing the system behavior and the interaction of single elements.
- Executing the hand-over to the customer personnel and their briefing.
- Contribute as test engineer to admittances, routine and type tests.
- Perform or support the specification of the required test equipment.
- May lead the commissioning staff.
- May control the mentioned tasks and /or provide supervisory guidance at site.
You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience with Siemens Simatic PLCs and HMIs (Siemens Step 7, TIA Portal, WinCC)
- 5+ years of experience with drives (Siemens, SEW, Lenze)
- Associate's degree in Engineering related program.
- Prior professional experience in system programming within automation environment
- Prior professional experience programming Personal Safety equipment (i.e. Sick PLS)
- Experience with controls network setup and commissioning such as Profinet and Profibus
- 50% Travel. Can include international travel. Candidate must be able to obtain passport if needed
- Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- CMSE® - Certified Machinery Safety Expert - Pilz US or equivalent
- Prior experience and programming (conveyer technologies and process equipment) proficiency in assembly systems within Automotive industry
- Bachelors' degree in Engineering related program
- German language skills are a plus
- Volkswagen VASS or BMW TMO Standard knowledge

- The pay range for this position is $72,380 - $124,080. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
