POSITION PURPOSE:
This position will report to the Vice President, CIO Domain Leader and provide technical expertise, proactive leadership, and guidance on all matters associated with the applications/platforms within the area of influence and is the primary person to advise on the advancement of the digital strategy. This position is also the chief liaison to DB&T leadership to coordinate work with the rest of the Veolia North America (VNA) and business/functional units.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Guide and support digital initiatives to enhance domain performance, efficiency, profitability, and safety.
Lead and manage application support and development teams, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Review, approve, and allocate work assignments to staff.
Develop and implement strategies to improve the performance and efficiency of their team.
Lead process improvement initiatives, such as participating in user group meetings to identify areas for improvement.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of their team, ensuring that issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Challenge, assist, and advise on the technical & application solutions to be implemented.
Pilot and manage technical crises, report alerts, and arbitration needs to the authorities adapted.
Perform a permanent technological watch allowing him to be the technical referent on his perimeter. Work closely with the CTO for guidance on new technologies and solutions.
Provide level 3 support for its scope.
Ensure the coordination and compliance with the security standards and architecture of the IS on its perimeter.
Ensure the compliance of developments with security standards.
Manage the various audits (technical, security, and publishers) that may occur within its scope.
Ensure the application mapping respects the standards set forth by the Chief Technology Office.
Define the technical base of its perimeter to meet the requirements of the digital transformation plans.
Control the environment and promotes continuous integration within its scope.
Manage the technical debt of its scope.
Design and validate the technical architecture of its scope.
Set up procedures and tools allowing continuous integration (Jenkins, JIRA, Gitlab...).
Contribute to the improvement of practices and methods implemented.
Organize and supervise the production launches of its scope.
Verify and ensure the quality and performance of the operation of the developments within its scope.
Blueprint functional and technical change documentation and work as the liaison between the business and outsourced service providers to deliver the services and changes to the applications as necessary.
Provide senior leadership with regular project status & reporting.
Create and present business cases, plus identify business needs in a timely and efficient manner.
Collaborate with Project Managers and Solution Delivery teams to identify appropriate internal and external resources necessary to accomplish project deliverables on time and on budget.
Manage stakeholder expectations through clear, concise, and professional presentations and communications.
Lead efficient team operations that promote modernization and upgrades of DB&T and BU/Domain systems.
Conduct performance evaluations and career planning with DB&T staff that are timely and constructive.
Mentor staff members to ensure their goals align with BU/Domain goals and the staff members’ personal development goals. Understand AGILE project management methodologies.
Work Environment : This will be a hybrid role located in Paramus, NJ. Travel up to 20% may be required.
Qualifications
Education / Experience / Background
Undergraduate degree in Information Systems or related field, Graduate degree a plus.
Minimum of 10 years of information technology.
Extensive experience in partnering with operations as well as leading and managing the department.
Experience working with outside firms to augment staff when required.
Prior industry knowledge beneficial.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (including presentation skills), including the ability to influence and negotiate through expertise.
Outstanding relationship-building skills.
Proficient project management, time management and continuous improvement skills.
Superior problem solving and financial analysis skills.
In-depth knowledge of software development practices.
Familiarity with database architecture and design.
General knowledge of various enterprise platforms.
Ability/Willingness to work with Global peers to share best practices to further the VNA business.
