Position Purpose :
This position will report to the Vice President, CIO Domain Leader and provide technical expertise, proactive leadership, and guidance on all matters associated with the applications/platforms within the area of influence and is the primary person to advise on the advancement of the digital strategy. This position is also the chief liaison to DB&T leadership to coordinate work with the rest of the Veolia North America (VNA) and business/functional units.
Primary Duties/ResponsibilitiesGuide and support digital initiatives to enhance domain performance, efficiency, profitability, and safetyLead and manage application support and development teams, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Review, approve, and allocate work assignments to staff.Develop and implement strategies to improve the performance and efficiency of their team.Lead process improvement initiatives, such as participating in user group meetings to identify areas for improvementOversee the day-to-day operations of their team, ensuring that issues are resolved in a timely manner.Challenge, assist, and advise on the technical & application solutions to be implementedPilot and manage technical crises, report alerts, and arbitration needs to the authorities adaptedPerform a permanent technological watch allowing him to be the technical referent on his perimeter. Work closely with the CTO for guidance on new technologies and solutions.Provide level 3 support for its scopeEnsure the coordination and compliance with the security standards and architecture of the IS on its perimeterEnsure the compliance of developments with security standardsManage the various audits (technical, security, and publishers) that may occur within its scopeEnsure the application mapping respects the standards set forth by the Chief Technology OfficeDefine the technical base of its perimeter to meet the requirements of the digital transformation plansControl the environment and promotes continuous integration within its scopeManage the technical debt of its scopeDesign and validate the technical architecture of its scopeSet up procedures and tools allowing continuous integration (Jenkins, JIRA, Gitlab...)Contribute to the improvement of practices and methods implementedOrganize and supervise the production launches of its scopeVerify and ensure the quality and performance of the operation of the developments within its scopeBlueprint functional and technical change documentation and work as the liaison between the business and outsourced service providers to deliver the services and changes to the applications as necessaryProvide senior leadership with regular project status & reportingCreate and present business cases, plus identify business needs in a timely and efficient mannerCollaborate with Project Managers and Solution Delivery teams to identify appropriate internal and external resources necessary to accomplish project deliverables on time and on budgetManage stakeholder expectations through clear, concise, and professional presentations and communicationsLead efficient team operations that promote modernization and upgrades of DB&T and BU/Domain systemsConduct performance evaluations and career planning with DB&T staff that are timely and constructiveMentor staff members to ensure their goals align with BU/Domain goals and the staff members' personal development goalsUnderstand AGILE project management methodologies
Education/experience/backgroundUndergraduate degree in Information Systems or related field, Graduate degree a plusMinimum of 10 years of information technologyExtensive experience in partnering with operations as well as leading and managing the departmentExperience working with outside firms to augment staff when requiredPrior industry knowledge beneficial
