We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Director of
Procurement
to join our
SAN DIEGO, CA
office. The Director of Procurement will develop and implement procurement strategies to support the company’s goals and objectives in interior design and build projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in furniture dealership procurement, with a proven ability to drive operational excellence. They should also excel at working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, creative environment.
This is a hybrid position that includes domestic travel.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and implement procurement strategies to support the company’s goals and objectives in interior design and build projects.Source, evaluate, and select suppliers and subcontractors based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.Negotiate and establish favorable terms and conditions with key furniture suppliers and manufacturers to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and service level agreements.Manage supplier relationships and conduct regular performance evaluations to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and quality standards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including the Director of Interior Design to ensure that all sourced materials and products meet DAHLIN’s quality standards.Develop and maintain a comprehensive supplier database, including supplier capabilities, product specifications, and pricing information.Monitor market trends and developments to identify new suppliers, materials, and technologies that could enhance the company’s competitiveness and cost efficiency.Lead the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of project requirements.Oversee the preparation of purchase orders, contracts, and other procurement documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely payment of suppliers and subcontractors.Monitor and analyze procurement data, such as spend, savings, and supplier performance, to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction.Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures to streamline processes and improve efficiency.Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices related to procurement and supply chain management.Ability to travel domestically to visit various clients and supply warehouses.Build and mentor a high-performing procurement team, fostering a collaborative and growth-focused environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
In-depth knowledge of furniture dealership procurement practices, industry suppliers, and market trends.Familiarity with GSA schedules and contracts, including bidding, modifications, price adjustments and compliance.Experience navigating GSA systems, such as eOffer and eMod, for contract modifications and renewals.Proficiency in using procurement software, including researching and implementing systems based on company needs, budget and scalability.Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.Proven experience in managing large budgets and achieving cost savings.Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership abilities.Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (MS Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel).
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS:
8+ years of procurement experience at the Director level in the AEC industry (preferred), with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a furniture dealership setting (preferred).Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or in a similar procurement role within the interior design or furniture industry.Prior experience in furniture warehouse logistics is a plus.Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without any restrictions or visa sponsorship.
We offer a competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications. Excellent benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage. We also offer the opportunity to participate in a pre-tax Flexible Spending plans for medical, childcare, and commuter expenses, Employee Stock Ownership Plan, and 401K.Salary range: Starting salary $145,000 to $155,000 depending on qualifications. Placement within this pay range will be determined by factors such as education, qualifications, project complexity and/or experience. The maximum is reserved for candidates who currently meet all job requirements.
