This position is 12-month Limited Term, but may be extended to 24 months or become permanent.

Under general direction and the direct supervision of the General Counsel, the incumbent serves as the operational project manager and support for the Attorney IV coordinator for the ALRB’s role in the Rural Strategic Engagement Program (RSEP), a multi-departmental effort to educate agricultural workers about workplace rights, increase access to state services in rural areas and improve state labor enforcement programs. The incumbent serves as the primary liaison with other government entities, service providers and vendors relating to the development and implementation of training programs, referral systems, data tracking and program evaluation.

Department Information

The ALRB exercises jurisdiction over approximately 800,000 farmworkers and employers, providing collective bargaining rights to farmworkers that were specifically exempted from the coverage of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) in 1935.

The California Agricultural Labor Relations Board was created in 1975 to ensure peace in the fields of California by guaranteeing justice for all agricultural workers and stability in agricultural labor relations. Headquartered in downtown Sacramento with regional and field offices throughout the state, ALRB employees are committed to, and guided by, the principles of the Agricultural Labor Relations Act, to “encourage and protect the rights of agricultural employees to full freedom of association, self-organization ...and to be free from interference, restraint, or coercion” (Labor Code §1140.2).

Ability to establish and maintain project priorities
