This role is essential in executing operational procurement activities, with a focus o n construction and facility management procurement (MUST-HAV E). The Procurement Specialist will act as a key link between departments and suppliers, ensuring seamless operations to support institutional needs and expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement Activiti es: Handle procurement across various categories, including construction materials, equipment, and facility management services. Understand the general procurement process and e-procurement systems.Stakeholder Collaborati on: Partner with internal departments, including project managers and facility management, to address procurement needs.Request Manageme nt: Review and approve procurement requests, transactions, and activities. Engage with suppliers to ensure accuracy, compliance, and value.RFx Manageme nt: Lead and manage RFx events, ensuring fair competition, timeliness, and process integrity. Prepare documentation, scoring, and cost analysis.Contract Manageme nt: Oversee contract review, redlining, and drafting. Construct statements of work and ensure agreements meet institutional requirements.Supplier Negotiatio ns: Negotiate pricing and business terms using market intelligence and benchmarks. Solicit competitive quotes when possible.Compliance and Communicati on: Ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Advise faculty and staff on requirements and best practices.Problem Solvi ng: Address non-standard requests and policy deviations. Conduct research for effective solutions.Collaboration and Suppo rt: Work with the Strategic Sourcing team and provide backup support to peers. Promote an inclusive and collaborative environment.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience.3 years of procurement experience.Knowledge of procurement regulations, processes, and practicesProficiency in analyzing supplier proposals and basic cost analyses.Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Workday, Oracle/SAP, Jaggaer)Foundational understanding of procurement agreementsPreferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Business5+ years of procurement experience in higher educationProven track record in conducting RFx events and successful negotiationsAdvanced proficiency with relevant software systems and tools (e.g., Workday, Jaggaer, Microsoft Office)High-level experience in procurement for construction and facilities management.Procurement certifications (e.g., CPM, CPSM)
